Description of the stay
A short immersion stay, in the shoes of the Aurignacian artist.
From understanding his art and the use of his tools, the aim is to transport you to his era and surroundings.
Pupils begin their trip by the discovery of Cave Arts. A big shock: the encounter with the paintings of the first artists, during the visit to the Pont d’Arc cave.

Next, it’s through the open-air activities, that pupils continue their journey in the land of early Man. To end there are educational workshops, and the visit to Orgnac, the City of Prehistory, will end their learning of ancestral techniques.

Did you know? : The Aurignacian artist was one of the first Homo Sapiens from the beginning of the Upper Palaeolithic era (around -39,000 to -28,000 years ago). He was the artist of the cave paintings in the Grotte Chauvet cave.

Combined programme: Technology, Prehistory, History of Art, Sciences
