Climbing Ardèche

Besides the Chauvet cave, the Pont d’Arc sector offers you numerous natural sites favourable to climbing. If you’re wishing to discover our climbing in the Ardeche and as a family, Face Sud has listed easy routes for beginners and younger users.

Several small cliff schools easily enable the discovery of climbing. Adapted to doing this as a family, these courses are open to children from 5 years and grandparents up to 75 years!

Owing to our instructors, your discovery of the activity will be rich in exchanges and sound advice. It is the ideal opportunity to share your questions or quite simply to exchange views on the subject of climbing in Aubenas or the Vallon Pont d’Arc. Remember that no experience of climbing is required for these climbing routes.

During your climbing trip in the Ardeche, allow yourself to be guided, by our experienced instructors, on the magnificent limestone cliffs of the Chassezac gorges. Our selection of intermediate routes are accessible to amateurs who do not wish to venture onto too breathtaking a route.

During your trip on the cliffs of the Ardèche, you will get used to the basic climbing techniques, such as lead climbing, learning to secure your partner, abseiling, etc. Your guide will be present to give you valuable tips concerning climbing in the Ardeche and anywhere else.

Thanks to Face Sud, the Gorges de l’Ardeche (Ardeche gorges) become a genuine playground for the most seasoned sports enthusiasts. Go out and conquer numerous breathtaking climbing routes, climb along fissures and try to master the sloping walls which will stretch along your climbing paths in the Ardeche.

To guarantee you guidance and quality training, our sports routes are set aside for adults and teenagers from 14 years and upwards. Whether you are a seasoned climber or a sports beginner, take part in this adventure in the air, thanks to our climbing routes in Aubenas or around Vallon Pont d’Arc.

Our long practice of Ardeche climbing and the desire to share our passion, means we offer climbing courses for adults, either for week-long but also weekend climbing. Beyond our craze for climbing, these stays are the fruit of our experience and a deep attachment to the Vivarais countryside.
These sports stays include several open-air activities (descent by canoein the Ardèche gorges, Via Ferrata & Via Cordata, canyoning, potholing etc.). As for our climbing courses for adults, they enable you to discover the loveliest landscapes in the Auvergne Rhône Alpes region but also the Calanques of Cassis, the Calanques of Marseille and the mythical Verdon gorges. For groups (Groups generally, schools and even groups of friends), Face Sud has selected themed stays and tailor-made activities linked to climbing. Pleasure, adventure and the countryside are on the agenda during these sports courses!

For school groups (primary, middle schools – aged 11 – 15, and high schools – aged 15 – 18), Face Sud has devised numerous stays of 3 to 6 days bringing together thrill-seeking activities (including beginners’ climbing in the Ardeche) as well as cultural activities, such as visiting museums or exploring the renowned Chauvet cave. To discover climbing with ease, we also offer beginners’ sessions for school groups on several small cliff schools.

The general groups are not left behind, as we have developed stays for groups from 5 to 14 days comprising a multitude of sports activities, including beginners’ climbing in Aubenas. This format includes our best activities and free time for your stay, combining relaxation and sports. We also offer climbing discovery sessions for a day.
